Host a Gestalt Equine Institute Training at Your Location

How to host a training:
We are excited and committed to teaching Gestalt Equine Psychotherapy (GEP)™ to interested groups anywhere in the world. The following set of guidelines is to help you plan a GEIR training at your location.

  1. First and foremost you will need a ranch with a minimum of 4 - 6 horses, six is more ideal than four. More than six horses are great but not necessary. Most of the work is done on the ground, but sometimes a participant might benefit from getting on the horse, usually with a bareback pad, so having horses that can be ridden is helpful, but again not necessary. If there are ranch usage fees they will need to be built into the cost of the training.
  2. Most of the work is done outdoors with the horses, but it is helpful to have an indoor space, such as an indoor arena, in case of inclement weather or a barn/lean-to/shaded area for lectures or debriefing. We can work in pastures, paddocks, indoor/outdoor arenas, or round pens.
  3. Group size is limited to 12 – 20 participants.
  4. A light lunch and snacks needs to be provided for participants and built into the cost of the training. You will need to find an affordable caterer to provide lunch for the group.
  5. Adequate parking and amenities will be necessary at the ranch facility.

Benefits of hosting a training:
  1. If you host a training, we will work with you to customize the training to meet your needs and interests. Three, four or five day workshops are options.
  2. Enhance your Gestatl Equine Assisted Psychotherapy™, growth, and learning knowledge from two of the most highly experienced trainers in Gestalt Equine Psychotherapy (GEP)™ available in the world.
  3. GEIR can also advertise your training on our web site. Such advertisement can help you create awareness about the training.
  4. Save on travel expenses by staying local versus traveling to Golden, CO.
  5. Create a community of local practitioners interested in Gestalt Equine Assisted Psychotherapy™, growth, and learning. Network, socialize, and learn from each other!

Pricing:
The price of our training is $1500 USD a day plus the cost of instructor expenses. Additional costs such as facility fees and lunches need to be built into the cost of the training. All participants are required to pre-pay in full.

Australia, January 2010 Training:
In January 2010, we traveled Down Under to facilitate two 3-day trainings in a beautiful town just north of Melbourne, Australia. We designed two workshops to meet the needs and interests of the attending practitioners which included psychotherapists, social workers, addiction counselors, and equine specialists: "Working with Individuals, Adults and Children" and "Working with Groups."

Do to the success of the January 2010 training, GEIR will be returning to Australia in January 2011 to provide additional training in Gestalt Equine Psychotherapy (GEP)™. Final dates to be determined. Check back soon!
