Joan Rieger, MA, LPC

Joan Rieger, MA, LPC is a licensed psychotherapist with her Masters in Counseling from Naropa University. She is currently in private practice in Lafayette, CO and also the Clinical Supervisor at the Medicine Horse Program in Boulder, CO. She offers both psychotherapy and equine assisted psychotherapy for individuals, couples, and families. She specializes in trauma & abuse, relationship issues, depression & anxiety, grief, and addictive behaviors. Joan is certified as a Gestalt therapist from the Gestalt Institute of the Rockies, and has completed Level 1 trainings in EAGALA, Equine Facilitated Learning & Coaching, and Somatic Experiencing.

Joan combined her two passions in life, being a therapist and love for horses, after her own personal experience with horses was deeply healing and transforming. She is an avid rider for the past 10 years and is pictured here with her current best friend, a 17 hand, grey Thoroughbred/Quarter horse named Windfall!
